Halloweentime at Disney - What I've tried from the Food Guide

by - October 29, 2018

I was especially excited about Halloweentime at Disney this year because they completely expanded their seasonal menu. They typically only offer a couple of items exclusive to Halloween and Christmas - last year one of them was a chicken pot pie and I am DYING to have it again this year (it was so good!!). This time around they added tons of different foods and drinks instead of having a limited list. I ordered a few really good ones! I was going to share this post after Halloween when the menu is no longer offered, but the majority of you voted on my story to have it published today. I hope it's useful if you're visiting the park on or before Halloween!

Here are some photos of Disneyland as well as what I ended up trying:

And now on to the food! I was really lucky to get a hard copy of the Food Guide, which you can find online here - they were all out for weeks! The orange side is for Disneyland, and the purple side is for CA Adventure.

#1. Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake and Cruella De Ville Brownie at Jolly Holiday Cafe
These are the first two things I tried when Halloweentime started this year. The layered cheesecake is so good!! The brownie was just okay - not really one of my favorites. The Dalmatian spots on the outside of the cup were so cute, though!

#2. Mac & Cheese Cone at the Cozy Cone Motel
The seasonal Mac & Cheese at Cozy Cone is actually called the Slow Burnin' Mac & Cheese - I ordered the one that's available year-round. Unlike the regular one that is just topped with bacon, the Slow-Burnin' Halloween one has a spicy cheese sauce and crushed chili puffs on top. I didn't want the spicy one, so I opted for the regular. It was really good!! I want to go back and get another one! It's so cute inside a bread (more like a crescent roll) cone. Even though I didn't try the seasonal one, there was a super long line for it so I'm guessing it's pretty good!

#3. "Spoke-y" Cone Macaron
I didn't actually want to try this one - my mom ordered it for me, and when I tried it I was glad she did! It's VERY sweet though - we all took a couple of bites hah. It has a sugary cream-filling that has candy corn mixed into it. The macaron wafer is so light and yummy, too!

#4. Smore's Churro at Golden State Churro Cart (near Redwood Challenge Trail)
Ugh you guys - you cannot go wrong with a churro from Disney. They are so good!!! This one was reeaaalllyy yummy. I waited in line 15 mins for it 😁 my favorite is still their original churro, but this one has bits of graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate sauce. YUM. Wish it wasn't seasonal!

#5. Halloween Hot Dog at Refreshment Corner (on Main Street)
This is another item where I tried the regular, non-spicy one. The regular one is a hot dog with a scoop of Mac & Cheese and bacon on top. I LOVED IT!! The Halloween one has spicy meatballs, cheese sauce, and roasted tomatoes. I was so hungry when I ordered this that I totally forgot to get a picture of it - tragic, I know.

There are lots of items I'm still hoping to try before they stop offering the Halloween menu on The 31st. Here is my list:

Disneyland:
1. Frozen Horchata at Rancho del Zocalo
2. Pumpkin Spice Beignets at the Mint Julep Bar
DCA:
3. Pumpkin Spice Funnel Cake Fries at Award Weiners
4. Cookies and Cream Funnel Cake Fries at Award Weiners
5. Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup at the Pacific Wharf Cafe
6. Green Apple Spell Lemonade at Smokejumpers Grill

I doubt I will be able to try all of these before Wednesday, but I'm hoping to try #'s 4, 5, and 6! I'll show you any new foods I get on my story :)

What are you doing for Halloween? I would love to know what you're dressing up as! I ordered things for my costume super last minute (yesterday) haha - I hope it works out. Thanks for stopping by xoxo
