5 Things I'm Looking Forward to This Fall

by - September 04, 2018

It's no secret that fall is my favorite time of year - I wouldn't mind if it was fall for 6 months! Heheh well now that it's September, it's hard to restrain myself from going full-on fall until summer is officially over on the 22nd. Ahhh I'm getting so excited just thinking about it! Here are some things I'm really looking forward to this season:

1. Fall Decorations

Images from Pinterest

I absolutely love coming home to a house fully decorated for fall. I hang THESE pumpkin lantern lights in my room (love THESE too), a pretty wreath on the front door, an autumn garland on the mantle....I really could go on and on. Especially when it starts to get cold and I'm out all day, I get so happy thinking about heading back to a cozy house with a cup of PSL and a movie!

2. The Apple Farm

Fresh apple cider from the orchard & pure maple syrup from Vermont (from the country store)

I can't wait to go apple picking!!! Okay, so a couple of years ago I went to an apple farm with our close family friends, and it is one of my most cherished memories to this day. Everything about that day was perfect - 7 of us crammed into the big Ford Explorer we had at the time, put on alllll the seat warmers, and listened to scary Halloween stories on Spotify the whole way (about a 1.5 hour drive). When we got there, it was cold and rainy and we warmed up with the homemade apple cider they have there. We also picked some apples, despite the rain, and meandered through the country store. Now every fall, I count down the days until I can go back!

3. The Pumpkin Patch

Annual pumpkin picking picture for Instagram, anyone?? Hahah I've been going to pumpkin patches every fall since I was a baby. It just doesn't feel like autumn without going once, and I usually go several times between September and November. One thing I love about the ones I go to is they are on farms, so I really enjoy getting fresh produce there rather than from the store - it's kinda fun to change it up.

4. Fall Eats and Recipes...and Thanksgiving!

Disneyland has some of the best treats during Halloweentime

Where do I even begin?! I cook and bake so much in fall and I loooove it. Isn't it great when you walk into a grocery store and they've got a whole display for various pumpkin foods? I live for that stuff. Last year I went shopping at Sprouts, and they had a giant presentation of fall foods. We ended up hosting a fall party because of all the goodies we found, and I fully intend on doing that again this year. Beyond excited for that! CLICK HERE to find directions on the Crockpot Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte I made last year - ugh it's so good. And let's not forget about Thanksgiving, my second favorite holiday! The picture below is part of the feast my sister and I cooked up last year.

5. Fall Fashion

I may have listed this last, but it's certainly not least. Fall fashion is my fa-vo-rite - I like it better than any other season. Boots, jackets, sweaters, scarves, ponchos, hats....and you can mix and match so many things to make a ton of great outfits. I wasn't blogging during fall of last year, so I don't have any photos of my own outfits. The photo above is my "Fall Outfits" board on Pinterest! If you want to follow me, my username is @heysweetkay :)

I might just have to decorate the house this week - don't know if I can resist! I ordered my first Pumpkin Spice Latte and pumpkin scone of the season the other day....even if my drink was iced (it's still 90 degrees!) it was so great!

Anyway, I'm still working on my posts from the trip, too, so I'll be back with more on that. I'm also thinking about writing up a post on what the past 6 months of blogging have been like...what are your thoughts? xoxo
