Vegas How-to: Getting Freebies & Rewards

by - July 13, 2018

Hi everyone! I'm going to cover everything I know about using MyVegas to earn redeemable rewards in Vegas. On our most recent trip, we were able to redeem a night at Bellagio, 2 buffets, and 3 tickets to Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. The only thing we paid for were resort fees - not even parking!

So if you've never heard of MyVegas, it's free game you play through M-Life Rewards, which is the rewards program through all MGM hotels (this includes Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, Excalibur, Luxor, etc). It's accessible through the computer or the free app for your phone. You play slot machines with chips, and the more you play the more gold coins you earn. The gold coins are the key - the more you have, the more freebies you can redeem! Just a heads up- you have to have a Facebook and log in to the app with FB to redeem the rewards.

Caution: the way they get you on the game is through the chips; you get hooked on the game, run out of chips, then they try to get you to buy chips (with your real money). Take it from me - do not buy chips! It's totally unnecessary. You may hit some low points in the game where you run out of chips, but you can always win your way back up. As long as you have some chips and you can still bet on the slots, you can earn gold coins. The game usually emails you a coupon for free chips each day, and you can also earn daily bonuses and an allowance every 4 hours.

When you're ready to redeem a reward, you just go to the "Rewards" tab on the app. You select a hotel, and then it shows you all of the options available. Some of them are really good! For example, a two-night stay at Mandalay Bay is 60,000 coins. They also have tickets to Shark Reef is 12,500, and most of the buffets for the hotels are between 15,000-40,000 coins. The more expensive the hotels, the more gold coins you'll need for rewards. A complimentary room at Aria is 200,000 coins, while a free room at Luxor is only 18,000...ha! If you're playing enough, you can redeem up to 4 at once. All of your rewards are found in your wallet. Sidenote: the majority of the rewards can only be redeemed Sunday-Thursday. Sometimes you get lucky and there's one available for the weekend!

With that said, M-Life is a real stickler in terms of redemption rules. While you can redeem 4 rewards at once, if you happen to change your mind and cancel one, that counts as "using" one of them. So, plan accordingly and only book/redeem rewards you are sure you're going to use. Be sure to redeem your rewards weeks in advance from your trip, as a lot of them sell out quickly (especially the good ones).

As for parking, this is separate from MyVegas. M-Life Rewards has different levels of their program, and if you get on the Pearl status, it includes parking at all MGM hotels. This is huge, considering parking is $18/day at any MGM hotel! It also means you can go to and from different hotels, and you'll never get charged to move your car. They offer a free upgrade to active military and veterans, so my dad upgraded and our parking was reimbursed.

If you have any questions, please let me know! I've had a lot of experience with using the game and rewards for a few years now. I hope this post was helpful! xoxo
