Graduation Dresses

by - April 25, 2018

I've been on the hunt for a graduation dress for months! Yes - I am guilty of planning waaaay ahead when it comes to big events like this. I've already bought 2 that are options, but I'm not convinced they are formal enough for the big day. I put together this collage of some that I would like to wear. Even if you don't like these specific dresses, they're also great for getting ideas on what kind of dress you want. I found most of these from one specific brand on the Nordstrom Website. I looked everywhere from Anthropologie, A&F, JCPenney, even Forever 21, and it was surprisingly hard to find what I was picturing for my "graduation vision", if you will. Maybe it's cause I'm shopping about a month in advance :P

In order from left to right, top to bottom:

1. Gal Meets Glam Evelyn Dress

Are you familiar with Gal Meets Glam? It's one of my favorite blogs run by Julia Engel! She's a blogger who started out in San Francisco and now lives in Charleston. Anyway, she recently launched a line of dresses, and I want all of them!! They're so pretty, and the lengths give them such a classic, feminine look - a look I'm always drawn to. This Evelyn dress is one of my favorites from her collection and would be great for graduation.

2. Madewell Bow-Back Dress

THIS DRESS. First of all, it's my favorite color. Second, the bow in the back...third, the buttons down the front. This is one of the dresses I've already purchased. There's no doubt in my mind that I love it, but I'm not entirely sure if it's graduation worthy. What do you think??

3. Lace Off-the-Shoulder Midi Dress

I think yellow is such a stunning color for this time of year, and I feel like a lot of people don't wear bright colors like this at graduation. I see a lot of black and white each year - it's nice to look bright and colorful, I think. This dress in particular has a really nice length, and I love the little sleeves and lace detailing.

4. Mix Lace Dress

Such a sweet dress....love the flutter sleeves, the detailing down the front, the little cutouts, and the color! Really liking the length of this one. Not sure if I want to stick with a mini or a midi dress yet. I kind of envisioned a dress like this in my head. Definitely a contender.

5. Fit & Flare Halter Dress

As far as mini dresses go, this is my first pick. I showed this one to my classmates today, and they all said YES! LOVE THAT! Haha. I really really like the periwinkle color, too. I think the shape of this one is so flattering. Also love high-necks!

6. V-Neck Lace Dress

Last, but not least, is this BB Dakota dress. It has a V both in the front an back. It's simple, but the Vs give it something a little extra. I like that the front isn't too low, and the back is low enough to be fun yet still elegant. I think it would get this one in the "Navy" color rather than the "Glow" color, though.

I hope this has inspired you to get some ideas, or maybe even one of these dresses, if you're attending graduation either as a graduate or a guest. I'll keep you posted on what I decide when it gets closer. Friday is in two days!! <3 <3 <3
